Junior AI Automation Engineer (Agentic Coding)

Build real-world automations using Claude Code and Codex, learning applied agentic engineering alongside an experienced team.

About The Role

Move Ahead Media is an established Bangkok digital marketing agency. We’ve launched a small, applied AI automation team that builds real tools, data pipelines, and API integrations the business uses every single day. This is practical engineering, not theoretical research.

As our Junior Engineer, you’ll work alongside our Lead AI Builder to ship agent-driven software quickly and safely. We build with agentic coding tools every single day.

The right person for this role is genuinely excited about the direction of AI and loves experimenting with the latest tools. For us, passion and practical execution are the ultimate benchmarks. If you have hands-on experience using Claude Code or Codex to build real things, and you are hungry to master this stack, you are exactly who we are looking for.

What You'll Do

Build & Integrate: Create scripts, small tools, and scheduled jobs to automate manual processes. Connect core business APIs like ClickUp, HubSpot, Slack, Meta, and Google. Own features end-to-end.
Work with AI Agents: Use Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor daily. Break tasks into agent-executable specs, review every diff, and treat AI output as a draft to iterate on, prompt, and verify rather than blind-pasting. Help optimise team agent configs (CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md).
Ensure Reliability: Maintain strong security hygiene (least-privilege API access, secrets management). Write basic checks and evals to test code and debug flaky integrations via log analysis.

What We're Looking For

We want builders who treat AI as a capable but supervised collaborator. Our criteria:
Hands-on Agentic Experience (#1 Criterion): Self-directed use of Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor to build a real, demonstrable project on your own initiative.
Genuine Interest in AI: You actively follow the space and experiment with new tools for fun.
Solid Coding Fundamentals: General ability in a common language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, etc.)—specifically writing scripts, calling APIs, parsing data, and structuring functions.
Agent Workflow Comfort: Strong habits around prompting, planning before editing, reviewing diffs, and verifying output.
A Real Portfolio: A GitHub link, deployed automation, or public config/dotfiles repo showcasing deep, well-documented work.
Curiosity & Communication: A natural habit of tinkering, good written English, and the judgment to flag bugs early.

Bonus Points

Knowing how to write highly effective CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md context files.
Building custom agent tooling (subagents, slash commands, test hooks, or MCP servers).
Shipping a complete automation from scratch (e.g., bots, scrapers, automated workflows).
Junior-realistic security awareness (scoped permissions, .env hygiene, read-only patterns).
Experience with ClickUp, HubSpot, Slack, Meta/Google Ads, or Google Workspace APIs.
Writing an honest blog post or benchmark breakdown about an agentic build.
Note: We welcome self-taught developers, bootcamp grads, and career-switchers. No degree or minimum years of experience required.

The Interview Process

If shortlisted, you will do a short, live, screen-shared session in your own setup. We will watch you use your preferred agentic tool to solve a simple, realistic task so we can see how you plan, prompt, and debug.
