We are looking for an SEO Link Building & Outreach Manager who is an absolute professional with a proven track record to help grow and deliver our link-building division. 

For this job, we need someone who isn’t afraid to talk to people and knows how to network. This position is perfect for an Internet-savvy creative with a knack for outreach! You’ll need to be in constant communication with website owners, bloggers, social media folks, posting on message boards, doing lots of Google searches, etc.

Roles & Responsibilities

Within the SEO department, the Link Building Manager  is accountable for three main areas and the following responsibilities:

  • Driving strategy to acquire backlinks that positively impact organic rankings
  • Working with internal teams and outside vendors to execute on that strategy
  • Management of outside service providers and technologies to assist in campaigns
  • Using advanced search techniques in Google to identify potential link opportunities
  • Qualifying websites for quality link potential
  • Reaching out to bloggers and other online personalities via email, twitter, blog comments, Facebook and on the phone
  • Regularly analyse backlink profiles (identification of link SPAM issues) and submit disavow reports to ensure healthy links and backlink profile
  • Use web-based tools to submit multiple business listings
  • Report to Head of SEO and Account Managers with successes, progress and opportunities
  • Work with the Head of SEO to research people and websites
  • Use web-based tools to submit multiple business listings (citations)
  • Perform and track outreach through social, email and telephone

Some of the tools we use or you will have access to:

  • Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEOmoz – Open Site Explorer, Majestic Seo, Ahrefs, SemRush, MonitorBacklinks, BuzzSumo, Buzzstream, Screaming Frog, + much more

Experience, Qualifications & Technical Skills

Must have:

  • Experience and track record in building a link building resource, link acquisition and outreach 
  • Must provide at least 2 references of people in SEO who can vouch for you
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and comfortable working in text-based CMS/HTML editors
  • Has executed multiple avenues in how to identify websites that will place links in mass
  • Understands and can demonstrate the use of tools such as AHREFS/MOZ/SEMRUSH/MAJESTIC
  • Proven record of managing a team of link builders
  • Can execute processes and strategies for a team to follow
  • Finding solutions to potential roadblocks
  • Cross train team members for each role of the link building process
  • Experience in managing both internal client link building and other agency campaigns

Not required but are a plus:

  • Knowledge and genuine interest in best practices of SEO and the Internet, especially as they relate to link building
  • Ability to handle large volumes of projects quickly across various industries
  • Must be comfortable working within a CRM like Hubspot
  • Must be able to multi-task and occasionally assist with other SEO tasks
  • Internet savvy a must (know a lot about being on the internet or doing things with the internet)
  • Internet friendly creative that can interact within multiple online communities and build relationships with ease

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with Native-level proficiency in English
  • Needs to be acutely aware that deadlines are critical and not compromise the high service levels the company demands
  • Has the hunger to be up to speed and knowledgeable in new trends in the industry and striving to better our service
  • Self-motivated and has the desire to be part of a team and company that has the ambition for aggressive growth
  • Persistent and not easily discouraged
  • Expert level attention to detail is essential
  • Must be able to work with a sense of urgency
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand, report and act on data

  • Proficient in conducting research online
  • Candidate must have a passion for search engine optimization and show it
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and results-driven team environment and must work collaboratively with others
